You can open a Term Deposit by transferring funds from an existing account with us. You have to access the ´Open New Term Deposit´ screen from the Term Deposits section, choose the type of deposit, term, amount and specify the account to be debited. You will then be asked to confirm the details you have keyed in. After confirmation, an acknowledgement of the opening of the Term Deposit will be displayed.
To enquire about the current interest rates offered by HSBC on Term Deposits, you have to access ´Term Deposit Interest Rate Enquiry´ from the menu options on the screen. Once you select the currency, the interest rates offered by us for the various terms of deposits and amounts will be displayed to you.
Yes, you can set up maturity instructions. To do this, you have to access ´Set-Up/Change Maturity Instruction´ on our Term Deposits section. Here, you can give instructions to:
Change the term of your account on maturity
Send your maturity interest to a chosen destination

You can break your Term Deposit by making a specific request through your branch. However, please note that a reduced interest rate will be paid and a fee will be applicable for premature withdrawal. Please contact your branch for further clarification.
