BANK CONFIDENTLY WITH INTERNET BANKING FROM HSBC
Your online transactions are secure and private
All messages exchanged between your computer and HSBC while you are logged on to Internet Banking from HSBC are private. This is ensured through state-of-the-art encryption technology. Once encrypted, only the intended recipient can understand the message.
Internet Banking from HSBC deploys 128-bit Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption technology, the best available commercially. To give you an idea of its capabilities, experts estimate that it would take trillions of years to break a 128-bit message using the latest technology. While you are connected, look for the 'lock' icon in the status bar of your Internet browser (at the bottom, on your right hand corner).
Such icons and messages are displayed to inform you that your online transaction information is encrypted while you are logged on.
Only you can access your accounts
With Internet Banking, your computer is your branch and your Personal/ Electronic Number and Internet Banking password are the keys to your accounts. For Internet Banking, HSBC uses firewalls to prevent unauthorised access. The only way to access your accounts is by presenting the right combination of Personal/ Electronic Number and Internet Banking password.
Of course you have an important role to play in ensuring that your Personal/ Electronic Number and Internet Banking password are kept confidential.
We are vigilant 24 hours of the day
While you are banking online, we are vigilant. If you have forgotten to log off after banking online, our system sets off an automatic logoff after a short period of inactivity. Moreover, the pages you have viewed during your banking session expire to prevent the pages from being stored in your browser, ensuring that no one can access these pages and your financial information.
We also track the number of logon attempts. Should we find three consecutive incorrect passwords have been attempted, we will immediately disable online access and the customer will need to contact us again to re-establish the access.
Internet Banking from HSBC also provides you with the information required to be vigilant. Each time you log on, we provide information related to your last banking session. If you find any discrepancies, please contact HSBC on 800-22044 (within Jordan) or +9714-2274310 (from outside Jordan).
You are protected
As a customer, you are fully protected against third party fraud when you use Internet Banking from HSBC. You will not suffer any loss if money is taken from your account without your permission provided you have not acted fraudulently or negligently.
