About Leaving Jordan

  • If you're moving overseas to live or work, you'll need to set up bank accounts. But where do you start?

If you are buying a house overseas, you may also need a bank account in that country. But how do you find out what's available and what the local regulations are?

How we can help you?

As an HSBC Premier customer, you receive the best we have to offer. Exceptional people, the best service and preferential rates. With your own relationship manager and 24-hour Phone and Internet Banking service, you are in control, no matter where in the world you are.

Take a look at some of these unique International Services designed particularly for you:

  • If you already are a Premier customer in Jordan, you will automatically receive the Premier service and all its benefits in your new country.
  • We can get your overseas Premier account up and running before you leave for your new country (subject to local terms and conditions).
  • Instant access to credit cards with similar limits to those you currently enjoy with HSBC in Jordan (subject to status, local laws and terms and conditions).
  • Giving you simple and secure methods for transferring funds between accounts in up to 40 countries.
  • Fast, easy access to your accounts worldwide - at the cost of a local call by calling the local Premier call centre.
  • We will undertake an International needs review with you before you move to make sure all your banking needs are covered.
  • When you get to your new country, your local relationship manager will contact you to make sure all your banking facilities are running smoothly.
  • We can also arrange to introduce you to our international banking specialists, where appropriate.

When you are travelling, HSBC Premier provides worldwide family travel insurance, personal security travel advice for you and your family at home and abroad, 24 hour Global Emergency Services helpdesk, and our Global Concierge Services for restaurant and hotel reservations.

You can hold accounts in EURO, US dollars and all major currencies and you get commission-free purchase and sale of foreign currency.

It's the backup you need for travel and living in your world.

If you are not a Premier customer, the International Banking Centre can still assist by providing the international services, available to you for a one-off fee of JOD 160 per account:

  • Simply contact the local International Banking Centre on +962 6550 7020, e-mail on ibc.jordan@hsbc.com or refer assistance to the International Banking Centre in your home country.

The one-off fee of JOD 160 is levied on a 'per account basis' upon receipt of completed account opening documents by the Jordan International Banking Centre. If you request more than one product in the application (e.g. a current account and a credit card), the additional products are included as part of the account application, and only JOD 160 will be charged.

If you wish to open 2 or more accounts simultaneously in different countries (e.g. France and Hong Kong), the account applications will be processed separately and hence the fee will be levied twice (i.e. JOD 320).

* The JOD 160 fee for Non-Premier customers is variable. It does not apply if the forms and other required documents are submitted physically to the receiving country directly. We can provide you with the details of our overseas branches. This fee is waived for all HSBC Premier customers.
