Recognising the importance of education, HSBC Bank Middle East Limited Jordan has sponsored two more students in 2008 in addition to the twelve scholarships donated in previous years.
The full scholarship covers tuition fees for students until they graduate, 2008 students are studying Medicine and Pharmaceutical.
Karen Adams, CEO of HSBC Jordan commented on the scholarship initiative: " Education empowers youth to not only contribute to society in a productive manner, but also helps to reduce poverty and inequality, which lays the foundation for sustained economic growth."
HSBC Bank Middle East Limited-Jordan has fully funded an internship programme designed for public school students. Recognising that experiencing new cultures broadens the horizons of students, the internship programme fully covered sending two public school students to the United Kingdom for a four week course.
HSBC Jordan aims, through this special programme, to help bridge the cultural divide for students, and enrich both their cultural and academic skills through such educational schemes in the UK.
In order to further enhance this cultural exchange, the two students were hosted by two English families. HSBC Jordan has fully funded this expense including the visa, travel expenses, tuition fees, accommodation, as well as personal expenses.
